General Manager

One of Reykjavik’s top ranking hotels is searching for a new GM.

The hotel is situated in the heart of the city. If you are a well adjusted, hands on leader, with hotel experience we would like to hear from you.

Job Description:
The General Manager is responsible for all aspects of the hotel’s operations and will do so by anticipating the needs and expectations of the customers, employees and owners to achieve profitability, and customer service goals while providing the employees with a positive work environment.

Starfssvið

  • Demonstrating Leadership – utilizing interpersonal and communication skills to lead, influence and encourage others; advocates superior customer experience, sound decision making, honesty, integrity. Leads by example.
  • Managing daily operations of the hotel ensuring excellence in guest service while promoting company culture and ensuring employee adherence to hotel policies and procedures.
  • Supervise and develop the performance of all operating departments including, but not limited to: Front Office, housekeeping and a small f&b unit.
  • Maximizes revenue through yield management and support to reservation/front office staff.
  • Monitors customer service levels and counsels employees on methods to achieve customer satisfaction.
  • Focus on employee morale and retention to maximize overall operational results.
  • Perform other tasks associated as necessary in order to achieve day to day goals.

Menntunar- og hæfniskröfur

  • Prior management experience in independent/boutique property preferred.
  • Excellent communicator and team motivator.
  • Exceptional leadership and management skills required.
  • Analytical skills and understanding of hotel sales/reservations, channel management etc.
  • Fluency in English and preferably other languages.
