Advantages of using qualitative methods
By using qualitative methods, we are able to uncover why and how a certain target group relates to a certain problem, i.e. why a target group says or acts as it does. Qualitative methods should be chosen, when the client wishes to obtain in-depth knowledge of a problem or target group.
  • Interaction and dynamics: The dialogue between interviewer and interviewees provides the opportunity to gain in-depth understanding of the issues the interviewee is responding to.
  • Openness and flexibility: Where the dialogue between the parties in the interview is guided, qualitative analyses are explorative and relatively structured. This presents a unique opportunity to explore the interviewee’s universe.
  • Nuances: Richness of detail and excellent insight is secured by posing open, in-depth questions.
  • A platform for generating ideas: Qualitative analyses are characterised by curiosity. This often results in new endeavours and greater insight into hitherto unexplored areas.

Within qualitative methods, we operate in:
  • Focus groups
  • Personal in-depth interviews
  • Observation
  • Explorative workshops
